Fallen power line

(Eingestellt am 30. November 2022, 14:56 Uhr von sunnyjum)

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits on either side of a V sum to 5.
Digits on either side of an X sum to 10.
All possible Xs and Vs between adjacent cells within the same row are given.

One of the columns in the grid is a power pole (to be determined by the solver).

There is a non-branching path that visits every row and every column. The path visits each row exactly once and takes the form of a 1, 2 or 3 digit number. This number is equal to 2X (2 to the power of X), where X is the digit inside of that row’s power pole cell.

Each row of the path is connected diagonally by one of its corners (and only at the corners - two path cells in successive rows may not share an edge). The path may overlap the power pole.

In the example image below, the power pole is in grey and the path's digits are in red.

Clever break-in, took a while to see it, after that it's quite straight. I really enjoyed it! Thumbs up!

Can you please check if there is something wrong in the ruleset / solution. A missing X or V, or the part with "every column".

Hi @StefanSch - I’ve double checked and every possible XV is given within all rows, but note there is no negative-XV-constraint within the columns. Yes the path must visit every column. The puzzle has been successfully tested

Sorry, my mistake. I worked for hours on this puzzle, always thinking "2^1 = 1"...
