2. Normal Thermo Rules Apply - Numbers on a thermo must increase starting from the bulb (the dark circle) to the end of thermo up the line.
3. Scale Thermos - The number in the white circle on a thermo represents the center of the scale. The sum of the difference between that number and the numbers on either side of the thermo must be the same. For example if the you have a thermo starting with the bulb like 1, 2,(3), 4, 5, where three is in the white circle. You take |(3-5)+(3-4)| = 3 |(3-2)+(3-1)| = 3, so that is a valid scale. Another example could be 2,3,(4), 7, where the bulb is 2 and the white circle is 4. So (4-2)+(4-3) = 3 |(4-7)| = 3. In essence the scale is balanced on either side.
