This puzzle was made for Desert Bus for Hope, an online fundraiser for Child's Play Charity, which streams in mid-November every year at twitch.tv/desertbus. Check out the fundraiser and consider donating some money to help kids in hospitals!
Rules: Place the digits 1-9 once into each row, column, and 3x3 box. Adjacent digits on a line must differ by at least 4 (i.e. "Dutch Whispers" lines). Digits in a cage must sum to the clue in the upper left (if given) and cannot repeat. Each of the red areas must sum to 82.

Solution code: 7th row followed by 6th column, no spaces

StefanSch - Thanks! And yeah, the property isn't necessary but I wanted to do something with those areas, having added them for aesthetic reasons.
asp1310 - Well, they haven't done them on-screen (yet?) but I'm going to be using it for some DB fundraising myself...

They do sudokus on Desert Bus now?! Which LRR members do them? Double good LRR news for me, since Graham revealed yesterday he has the all-clear from cancer!

Nice! Btw. I didn't used the property, that the upper read area sums to 82.
