Inspired by Thomas Snyder's "Battleship Sudoku" book and Jay Dyer's "Deconstruction" puzzles such as Jörmungandr. This is also a sequel to my Battleship Sums puzzle, which I would recommend solving first.
Place nine non-overlapping 3x3 regions in the grid such that all regions contain a set of the digits 1-9, and no digits repeat in a row or column.
Cells separated by a pentagon sum to 0, 5, 10, or 15. Cells outside regions do not contain digits and count as 0 for these sums.
All battleships below the grid must be placed exactly once such that no battleships touch orthogonally or diagonally. All battleship cells must be in a region, and any digits given must match that cell in the sudoku grid. Battleships may not be placed on the marked water cells. Unlike standard battleship, rotation is not permitted.
Circle clues are the number of battleship cells they see in a given direction starting from the arrow. Circle clues in the sudoku grid are always in a region, never battleship cells, and correspond to the digit in their cell. The caged clue gives the sum of all battleship cells along the indicated diagonal.
I recommend using colors to differentiate between regions. Battleship tiles can be found on Penpa+ in the "Shape" tab under "Special 1"

New solvers should familiarize themselves with Deconstruction logic before attempting this puzzle. Not for the faint of heart.

fully agree with niverio below: very cool battleship logic and very challenging sudoku at the end.

Very enjoyable opening! The battleship logic is absolutely stellar!
The ending Sudoku is absolutely brutal though, so take care (:
