This puzzle is a shikaku-sudoku hybrid.
Here is an example to illustrate the hybrid ruleset:
The rules for the main puzzle are as follows:
- Normal Sudoku Rules apply.
- Numbers must not repeat on the marked (negative) diagonal.
- Shikaku Rules: Divide the whole grid into non-overlapping rectangular regions such that each region contains only one circle and each circle is contained in only one region. A square can be a rectangular region. Digits may repeat inside a rectangular region if allowed by other rules. Every cell of the grid is part of a region. The digit in a circle indicates the number of cells in the corresponding rectangular region.

Do the rectangular regions contain exactly 1 circle or are they allowed to contain zero?
