  • Normal sudoku rules apply: each row, column, and region indicated by thick borders in the grid must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Numbered rooms: clues outside the grid indicate the digit which has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit placed in the first cell in that direction. Example: if r1c9 is a 6, then because of the 2 clue the 6th cell counting from the east to the west in row 1, r1c4, is a 2.

What a meticulous construction. Every time I thought there was nowhere to go, one of the clues would eventually reveal a secret. Numbered rooms puzzles seem to be under-used but very powerful.

Exceptional puzzle, I feel like I learned at least half a dozen ways to use the constraint.

I've solved many NR puzzles but this one stands out as the most intricate and masterful one so far. Surprising and wonderful interactions between the clues, I greatly enjoyed box 3 there :)

An amazing puzzle, as always! One thing I've come to love about Qodec puzzles, is that even when a puzzle feels challenging, I am always able to find some subtle, elegant piece of logic that keeps me inching toward a solution.

Wonderful how it slowly slides from almost impossible to totally solvable ! Great puzzle again !

I don't usually enjoy puzzles with this sort of ruleset because they can feel a bit like going around in circles making the same type of simple logical deductions over and over. But for this puzzle that is certainly not the case! The logic to solve the puzzle is beautiful and immensely satisfying. In the beginning it seems impossible, but it's actually very approachable once you get going. Very nice job! Thanks for the puzzle!
