This puzzle was inspired by Playmaker6174's Portal Sum puzzle.
Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply. Fill each cell with a digit from 1 to 9 such that every row, column and 3x3 box contains each digit exactly once.
There are 14 cages in the grid and each one contains a portal (oval shapes). 7 of the cages contain a blue portal and a total in the top left corner of the cage. The other 7 cages contain an orange portal. The cages are split into 7 pairs, with each pair containing one blue and one orange portal. Which cages belong to each pair is to be determined by the solver.
For each pair of cages the following conditions apply:
- The digit in the cells with the blue and orange portals must be the same.
- The two cages in the pair cannot touch orthogonally.
- Digits cannot repeat within any single cage and, apart from the digit in the portals, digits cannot repeat between the two cages.
- The sum of all the unique digits in the pair of cages (the digit in the portals is only counted once) must equal the total in the top left corner of the cage with the blue portal.
