Constellation Sudoku IV: Scorpius

(Eingestellt am 20. Mai 2022, 15:32 Uhr von Jreg)

This is a continuation of my previously published idea, Constellation Sudoku - with an added custom constellation rule. This puzzle is based around an existing constellation called Scorpius which is also one of the astrological signs. I may or may not intend to go through all twelve eventually (I've already done Pisces before).

If you like this idea and the puzzle I created using it, I would love to see more people take this concept and construct their own puzzles with it! I think it has a cool potential, but I'm not a good enough setter to do it justice. Let me know what you think and have at it!

The rules are as follows:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Digits placed on the arrows must sum to the total given in the connected gray circle. (In r6c5, there's a common starting point of two arrows facing up and down respectively.)

Every star in the constellation (i.e. the turqoise circles) must have a different digit on it.

The observatories (marked with the pointy white symbols) contain digits that are the sum of all stars they can see horizontally, vertically and diagonally. The observatories may contain repeated digits.

For reference, you can also view and play my other constellation sudokus following these links:

Constellation Sudoku III: Pisces

Lösungscode: Digits in row 1 followed by digits in column 8 (a total of 18 numbers).

@LittleBallOfPurr Thank you! I would include CTC links but I can't for the life of me figure out how to paste your puzzles into the app. :(

Loved the puzzle itself, the constellation rules are great, with the observatories playing well with the stars.

Would perhaps recommend changing the word "on" to "along" in the description i.e "Digits placed along the arrow...", confused me at first as I thought you meant all the > digits summed to the circle. Also, CTC/SudokuPad links would be amazing, it's so much nicer to solve on that F-Puzzles.

Many thanks, hope to see more of these, with you continuing the series!
