Whisper Cave Sudoku

Shade some cells such that all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected and all orthogonally connected groups of shaded cells touch the perimeter of the grid. No 2x2 area may be shaded, and adjacent shaded cells must differ by at least 5.
A cell with a number in its top left corner is not shaded, and indicates the sum of all unshaded cells seen in all four directions (including itself), where shaded cells obstruct vision. Within the field of vision of a clue, numbers must not repeat.
A 1-6 example is provided. In this puzzle adjacent shaded cells differ by at least 3.

Brilliant puzzle, thanks. Some lovely logic arising from the GW constraint. I got horribly snarled up at one point because I forgot a bit of wall was already connected to the edge, and was trying to do it again.

Very nice combination of rules, which offers a great sequel to Abed Hawila's cave puzzle. Something familiar, yet a good feeling of novelty. Also, what a beautiful ending with that slight change in the solving process ! Thanks !!

Great puzzle! This is a cool variation of cave sudoku. It wasn't easy, but the deductions were rewarding and fair. I liked how the walls got resolved at the end.

Woo hoo, my first Cave Puzzle, that was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the combination of rule types, I did get bogged down a few times until I remembered one of them.
