Double Negative

(Published on 30. March 2022, 20:45 by jwsinclair)

Normal sudoku rules apply.
Cages show their sums.
On thermometers, digits increase from the bulb.
Blue dots are the midpoint of an entirely horizontal or entirely vertical four-cell sequence in which the digits on either side of the dot form a pair of two-digit numbers (read left-to-right or top-to-bottom) which have a 1:2 ratio. (For example, 2613 or 1428 would be valid left-to-right or top-to-bottom sequences.)
All possible dots are given.

Who'd have thought that a puzzle with the title "Double Negative" would be this approachable? I agree with the others, the ending is particularly good. Nice puzzle. :)

@Tilberg: Ha, I didn't even think of that! The "double" in the title is for double-digit numbers (not my most creative, I'll admit).

You're probably right about the difficulty—usually when I think one of my puzzles is in the 4/5-star range, it doesn't get enough solves to get rated, but this one might be close to getting there. Anyway, thanks for the nice comments, glad you liked it!

Agree with Elliott. Especially the ending was *double* fun! I was about to look for bent triples, finned swordfishes and other crazy stuff, when I realized what I'd been missing. Suddenly everything from top to bottom made sense. ;-)
