Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits on a purple renban line must be consecutive, can be in any order, and must not repeat. Digits along the grey palindrome lines must read the same forward and backwards. Digits in a cage must sum to the little number in the upper left, and may not repeat in the cage. The numbers on the outside of the grid refer to the adjacent row or column, and indicate the digits residing between the 1 and 9 must sum to that number (do not include the 1 or 9 in the sum). I think this puzzle is 2 stars out of 5 for difficulty for many solvers. As always, comments welcome!

Nice one. I have a valid solution but the code doesn't seem to work unfortunately
** That is a cause for alarm. I'm pretty sure I tested for unique solution, but perhaps not.... :-(
Hmm no sorry I did discover a mistake. One sandwich clue doesn't seem to work out. But the sudoku itself is valid :)

I must be doing too many new variant Sudokus. When I read, "adjacent row or column" I presumed an additional constraint on the standard sandwich sudoku. I thought adjacent meant +1 or -1 row or column from the given clue. So instead of placing a sandwich in row six adding to 6 for example, I thought the given sandwich needed to be made in row five or seven.
After a couple of failed attempts, I realized my presumption was wrong and that the puzzle was using just a regular sandwich sudoku.
I thought I would just share my blunder, but otherwise the puzzle was quite approachable and fun. thanks.
