Mini Midpoints

(Eingestellt am 4. März 2022, 07:25 Uhr von SSG)

This puzzle is a demonstration of the ruleset from my previous puzzle Midpoints, which can be found at https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=0008CX.

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply.

Midpoints: The shaded cells contain one set of the digits 1-6. For each shaded cell there are pairs of cells in the grid such that the shaded cell is at the midpoint of the line connecting the pair and the digit in the shaded cell is the average of the digits in the pair. The number of such pairs for a given shaded cell is equal to the smallest prime factor of the digit it contains (to avoid ambiguity, there will be exactly 1 pair for the 1). The following graphic demonstrates three possible valid pairs.

Wow! There are many things amazing about this puzzle! First of all, it seems absolutely ridiculous that it has a unique solution with simply six ambiguous highlighted cells and nothing else. Then, all the incredible logic that comes with the constraint and the way you put it together is surprising and really beautiful. This is a really amazing puzzle, well done SSG!

-Thanks! I really like this ruleset (the 9x9 is one of my favorite puzzle I've set); and, I'm glad that my intuition that 6x6 would be impossible turn out to be wrong. -SSG
