Kropki XV - Help with SET

(Eingestellt am 11. August 2021, 05:00 Uhr von XeonRisq)

This time, the puzzle from my Kropki series will be a little different. This puzzle will be dedicated to helping with SET.

Ruleset:
  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Numbers that appear in the cells between a ratio constraint must have a ratio of 2.
  • Numbers that appear in the cells between a difference constraint must have a difference of 1.
  • Not all dots are given.
  • Cells separated by an X must sum to 10.
  • Cells separated by a V must sum to 5.
  • The numbers in the cage must sum to the given total in the top left corner.
For those who want to try the puzzle without highlighting or assistance, use the link below and READ NO FURTHER:

Explanation:
A simple way to think about basic SET formations is that the digits in one color of highlighted cells MUST be the same as the highlighted cells of the other color.
(The patterns chosen must follow strict rules, and not just any cells can be selected for SET.)
For this puzzle, we will use the pattern widely known as the Phistomefel Ring.

Steps to effectively use SET to solve this puzzle:
  • Using the constraints, deduced and resolve the digits in the purple ring.
  • Using the the cage totals and basic solving techniques, deduce which digits must make up each green square.
  • (The digits in the purple ring MUST be the same digits in the green squares.)
  • After the digits have been resolved to their cages, use the Kropki dots (along with basic solving techniques) to deduce their positions in each cage.
  • After resolving the squares, use the remaining clues to finish off the puzzle.

Very easy if one is familiar with basic SET, 2* if this is a new concept. Thanks for sharing!

Because this sudoku was solved 70 times within 24 hours I am deeply ashamed to ask: Is "SET" an abbreviation or is it just the english word "set" (perhaps in the sense of "collection")?. What does "SET" stands for?
-----
Sorry Voyager, I should have noted what it is an abbreviation for in my explanation.
SET = Set Equivalence Theory
Shye actually made a YouTube video that gives an intro into correctly forming SET patterns.

@KyleBaron You nailed it. The puzzle really isn't for solvers looking for a difficult or challenging puzzle. It's more for learning how to utilize SET as a tool to help solve.

@taylorsc You're welcome. Thanks for solving the puzzle, and appreciate the feedback.

@koba Thanks. The intention was to help the less experienced solvers get used to using SET as an additional solving tool.

I agree with the other comments, it wasn't very difficult if you know set, but at the same time it sort of forces you to see the relation between the box and corners. Fun puzzle.
