Consecutive Knight's Tour Sudoku

(Published on 30. July 2021, 17:23 by Prutsbeest)

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

A chess knight is placed in the top left corner cell (the blue cell with the given digit 1) and will jump across the board to reach the other blue cell, using knight's moves (in chess), without revisiting any cells.

The green cells (and the two blue cells) are all part of the knight's path, the other cells may or may not be part of its path.

Digits on the knight's path have to be consecutive (example: 1-2-3-2-3-4-5-4-3-4-...).

Digits along a thermometer must strictly increase from the bulb end.

The break-in requires a bit of logic, after that the puzzle should be pretty straight-forward. Good luck!

Solution code: Row 8 followed by column 9 (18 digits, no spaces)

This one wasn't in my backlog, but after solving filuta's Knight Tour and your Knightsrun, of course I had to try this one :D
I quite enjoyed it, it's different than the others from the fact that the sudoku is more involved, which is really cool. More approachable too than the Knightsrun (which felt more like a Chess problem), although of course having solved said puzzles above beforehand definitely helped. I have to mention my experience was more or less the same as mentioned in the hidden comment -- still very nce though, and certainly another very impressive construction!

Thanks a lot for the solve and the kind words, appreciate it! :)

"The break-in requires a bit of logic...": yes, "...after that the puzzle should be pretty straight-forward.": not really, it's hard until the very end. Anyway: A brillant puzzle, very clever constructed! I love all kinds of combinations of chess and sudoku. 100% from me!
