Battle With The Archers 2: At First Sight

(Eingestellt am 10. Juni 2021, 16:29 Uhr von Playmaker6174)

(The puzzle is inspired by some of the ideas from Tellurium Chaos by Nityant)

This is the second puzzle of my Battle With The Archers collection, I think it's pretty intriguing when it comes to setting and finding some deductions in the first half, the reason why the title is called like that is a mystery for this puzzle :}

Rules: Normal Sudoku rules apply. In addition, digits along an arrow must sum to the digit in the circle cell attached to that arrow. Digits along an arrow can repeat if allowed by other rules.

To clarify a bit more, circled cell r3c1 has 2 arrows with 3 cells long and r2c1 is the common cell, same for r1c6; also r8c7 is the common arrow tip of 4 arrows.

Good luck and have fun solving!

A few months ago I came across one of the higher numbers in your series (a three-star puzzle), was just able to solve it, noticed there was a whole series and thought: wow; I am going to do them all. Brilliant! I am fairly good at calculating, so thought I could make it.
So I went enthusiastic back to #1, found really nice new logic, was happy to finish it and proceeded with #2. (By then I thougt to enter all solutions at one time as a series. I like to do so when possible.)
So when I also solved that #2 and also found beautiful interactions in it, my enthusiasm was sky rocketing. I printed out all puzzles of your series that you published up till then with the expectation to solve them all.

But...

In one after the other I failed, although I discovered beautiful pieces of logic here and there, so there was at least progress. I only solved one or two of the later puzzles.

So:
There is a lot to learn for me in arrow sudokus, and I will try to solve more of the ones in which I am stuck at a later moment.

And:
I decided to enter the codes of the first two puzzles, just to let you know that I am deeply impressed by the whole series, despite my failures so far. I hope to finish more of these, because I do have the feeling I learn a bit more every time I sit at one of them.
It is really a pity that time is so precious. ;-)
To be continued...

Wow, thank you very much for your interest on this main series from mine and for sharing your experience as well!
In the early days of setting I didn't acknowledge enough things that are required to make a puzzle enjoyable and accessible enough to everyone, so despite the early portion of the series being praised, it still felt too unbalanced and often discouraging because of sudden difficulty bumps. That's why there's a stop after entry #10 of this series to look back at my weak points and after a long time, I actually came back with what's claimed to be the biggest blast of the series so far (though I still struggled with difficulty bump in a long time, even up till now). From time to time, I've started to appreciate more what I can deliver to everyone without making it appear to be too discouraging and I've also got used to making the difficulty feel reasonable enough to encourage solvers.
Anyway, I'm glad that you find the series fascinating and I'll always be here to assist you whenever you need or feel stuck. :)

Nice break-in and a lot of fun to discover the interactions of the arrows afterwards. Great puzzle!

Nice development from the first. Loved the break-in. Got a little stuck in the middle but made it through with some thought. Very smooth solve after that!
