Thermo Arrow Sudoku

The usual sudoku rules apply. The digits on an arrow add up to the digit in the corresponding circle. The digits on a thermometer increase from the bulb end.

Cool opening! I remember not finding the break-in back when this was released, but sleeping on it for more than two years seems to have helped a lot :)

It's fascinating again and again, how a pretty high degree of order may appear even more chaotic than real chaos. ;-) Well done!
After 14 hours of torture looking for the 12th digit f-puzzles crashed just when I had discovered, that I could disambiguate it with a series of short chains. I consider them a kind of brute force and try to avoid them at all cost - well, a cost of 14 hours in this case - and I found them exceptionally entertaining too. Had tried swordfish, xyz- and w-wings before, maybe I overlooked something. Any different approaches?
After resuming it took me about an hour to discover the one line, that would'nt contradict until the end.
My first *****-puzzle, glad it could be one of yours. :)

While the break in looks like an appetizer, the solve afterwards is the real dish that truly serves something you won't ever forget. Thank you for this pure gem! (just realize this is the 99th puzzle I've solved on the site :} )
