This puzzle was set during a speed setting competition on the Cracking the Cryptic discord fan server in one hour, and came in third. It should be noted a minor change has been made since to remedy a logical leap that made one step too difficult in comparison to the rest of the puzzle.
Note that this puzzle is kind of on the border between 2- and 3-star difficulty.
Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply: In a row, column or box, the digits 1-9 have to appear exactly once.

Clone rules apply: There are two clones in the grid. Clones contain the same digits in the same locations.

It took me over 2 hours to solve it because I am rather slow at solving, but the puzzle was excellent, especially for a 1-hour creation. Very satisfying

Nice consistent difficulty and logic through much of the solve. And just an hour to set it - very nice! I think you're spot-on about the difficulty being 2.5 stars.
