Switcheroo

(Eingestellt am 4. Mai 2021, 02:24 Uhr von Genomico)

This is a new puzzle type which I introduced with an easier puzzle that can be found here.

Rules: Change two digits in each row and column to other digits (1-9) so that none of the digits appears more than once in a row or column.

The puzzle is also available on Penpa.

If you struggle solving the puzzle, find some hints here.

I have some extra ideas for logical tricks I could use for creating new Switcheroos, so please let me know if you like this new puzzle type and want more of it :)

Enjoy solving! :)

Lösungscode: Rows 1, 5 and 8 after you have 'switched' the digits (24 digits in total).

Nice fresh idea, has potential (imo) as has combination of simple to understand rules and nice resultant logic.

Side note, hints link seems incorrect (or has typos) as there isn't a column 9 in puzzle)

Reply: Thank you very much for your comment. And indeed, the hint was for columns 7 and 8 instead of 8 and 9. I changed that. Thank you for noticing. I got used to a 9x9 grid too much ;)

Always nice to see new ideas. Might be the best to ask a native speaker, but I think "switch" is more commonly used to describe the change between different states for one object. Swaperoo might be a more fitting title. Although it looks a bit ugly.

Reply: I'm not sure either, but Switcheroo seemed to be the best and nicest translation for the Dutch word 'Wisseltruc' we at WCPN gave this puzzle type. So I hope it makes sense in English (or at least a bit) :)

Good new puzzle type! I always like to see, what authors make of new ideas and what new thinking paths I have to find in solving.

I enjoyed it, so I'm curious what more you can come up with!

Looks a bit like Hitori, but more enjoyable to solve IMO. I wouldn't mind seeing more puzzles of this type. :)
