Completely insane! Compass rules tend to force such weird and surprising things, and this very much delivers on that front. So many mind-bending moments throughout, incredible puzzle!

I restarted the puzzle twice only to get back to the same point. Eventually, I realised the impossible was ACTUALLY POSSIBLE. I'm enjoying this puzzle series so much. Thanks Magnus!

Brilliant puzzle! I'm loving this series so far, can't wait to try #4 and #5. This was such a tense solve. There were so many moments where I'd seemed like the puzzle was going to break, but there was always a way forward.

Amazing puzzle once again!

This is just sensational! My favourite in the series so far. There was a moment in the solve where I was absolutely convinced I had broken the puzzle, but it was very satisfying where I found out the only way it can still work.

On one hand, I'm incredibly proud of myself for finishing this puzzle in barely over an hour.
On the other hand, this had to be the most conniving logical path I've ever seen in a puzzle. I was convinced that I had gone mad at no fewer than five separate occasions.

Incredible puzzle, thanks!

Insane...
How is it even possible to set such a thing ?
As the other solvers, I must have thought at least 5 times that I had broken it, because, you know, at some point, we must all have thought something like : "what ?! there's no way that this embryon of a region can reach that kind of destination... [head scratching for a while] [despair] [light] oh, wait, there is a way, actually... a very tight, narrow, bushy kind of way that allows this to exist !"
I think that the german word for this is : Ausgezeichnet !
Onto the next one of the series !

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really happy that you are enjoying the series. /Magnus

Fan-tas-tic. Enjoyed it immensely. Didn't find it as hard as some people suggested (solved in 75 minutes, right after doing #2), but this puzzle gave me so much joy. More than one eureka moment in it, and so carefully constructed.
Straight into favorites, finally found my worthy 20th entry since I really want the favourite page to mean something and am determined to keep it to exactly one page. That's how good this one is.
----
Thank you, that means a lot to me! This is still my personal favourite of the puzzles I've set, so I love to see it get more attention and appreciation. By the way, 75 minutes is really quick for this, I'm impressed! /Magnus

This isn't just "slightly harder" than #2. It's like comparing a dot to a 4D hypercube. Three hours just completely vanished for me, this was one of the most engrossing, difficult, and rewarding puzzles I have ever done, full stop. That middle section is something I will likely never ever forget. On to #4!
----
Yeah, this one is defintely more elaborate and sophisticated than #2, and for that reason it is my favourite in the series. Really glad you liked it, and impressive to see you work through the series so quickly :). /Magnus

I was told this series was phenomenal, so I thought it would be a good way to spend my empty Saturday. And I'm not sure how fast I actually have been: #2 took me a little over an hour, and to be perfectly honest, the ending of that puzzle kind of contrasted my expectations given I *really* am not a fan of counting to that degree. But I am so glad I did this one, it just absorbed me fully. I have no idea how or why but literally everything else in life was irrelevant while I was doing this puzzle. I think it took me just under 4 hours, but it felt like 45 minutes. I jumped into #4 IMMEDIATELY after finishing this one and comparatively it felt like a 2 star puzzle. I'll probably do #5 later today, this series has been a blast.
I feel like compass fillomino should be a genre in its own right. I could do a hundred of these and not get bored I'm pretty sure, thanks for opening my eyes to this ruleset combination

Finally finishing this amazing series of puzzles, every single one of the five puzzles was unique and interesting in its solve path, its was mesmerizing (and terrifying) to see these region grow and interact, this was a heck of a ride.
thank you magnus for your creations and congrats on this one this one being finally getting the rating it deserve.

Diabolically hard! I was convinced I had broken the puzzle in the middle but then finally found the only configuration that somehow held everything together. Amazing puzzle, thanks Magnus!

Thank you Vebby! Yeah, it is definitely a challenging and mind-twisting puzzle. Well done for solving! /Magnus

Revised difficulty from 4 to 5 stars.

Terrific puzzle once again! I personally found it monstrously hard to break out of the starting area. Thankfully, by asking the right questions I found enough slow, localised logic to get the ball rolling, though I can't imagine I did so very efficiently.
The rest of the solve didn't give up the ghost easily, and was chock-full of scary surprises (if you catch my drift). I've lost count of the number of times I thought it was broken... I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about ;)
Thanks again for this challenging and thought-provoking series!
-----
Thanks PixelPlucker! And thank you as well for persevering and finishing the solve. I promise, #4 will be significantly smaller and easier again :). /Magnus

Again a formidable puzzle with excellent bits of logic and nice surprises. I guess you could say this is a more complete version in a way than #2.

Thank you Mark, and well done for solving! Yes, I agree. /Magnus

This puzzle is my personal favourite of all the puzzles that I have created so far. I believe is has somewhat cleaner and crisper logic than compass fillomino #2 and is also a bit more sophisticated.
I am excited to hear what you think about it.
Also please don't hesitate to post a hidden comment asking me for a hint if you get stuck.
Good luck!
