Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Row 1: Digits on a thermometer must increase from the bulb. The two thermometers end in r1c5.
Row 2: The number outside the grid indicates the sum of the digits sandwiched between 1 and 9.
Row 3: Digits on the arrows must sum to the number in the circled cells.
Row 4: Circles represent odd digits; squares represent even digits.
Row 5: Digits separated by an X must sum to 10.
Row 6: Digits separated by a V must sum to 5.
Row 7: Digits separated by a black dot must have a ratio of 1:2.
Row(s) 8/7: The digit in a white circle must appear in its four surrounding cells.
Row 9: The digits in the cage must sum to the total given in the top left corner.
Extra rule: The digits along the indicated diagonal must sum to 42, the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything.

Fantastic puzzle! That was much fun. I found the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life", and than step by step "Everything" will work.
