CTC Sandwich

Ruleset:

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Digits on thermometers have to increase from the bulb end.

Numbers outside the grid show the sum of the cells “sandwiched“ between 1 and 9 in that row or column.

Digits in the circled cells must sum to the digits along the indicated arrow. Digits may repeat on an arrow, given the do not violate other rules.

Digits in two-cell circles of the arrows must be read as a two-digit number read from left to right.

I said, if this sentence actually encourages people to post seven puzzles a week instead of making them realize, that too many puzzles lead to serious problems, than it does not fit it's intention and the wording should be changed. Nothing more.

You never suggested a strict limit of one per week but please be honest, you talked about the idea of suggesting that limit if all new setters consider the limit of not more than 7 puzzles a week as the standard rule.... that was your own words dont tell this is not true.... Now that's your choice not to do anything.... That's mine not to agree with that choice

I never suggested a strict limit of one puzzle a week. It's a rule of thumb I try to stick to, if I don't have very good reasons not to. (Like I did with our series of puzzles the two weeks before the DSM qualifier.) And a lot of other people do the same.
I especially don't support restricting other authors, which are here for many years and occasionally post series of puzzles in a short timeframe (like Zzzyxas with his christmas series or tuace with his Krypto series).
Some solutions have been discussed, it was decided to not do anything, so all what is left to the common portal user is to somehow try to guide all newcomers.

@osmium76 : sorry that wasnt specially against you, but as Dandelo (a person who is on LMD for a long time now....) perfectly explains, too many new setters since the first lockdown last year came from CTC discord server, youtube or social networks and published really too often. As Realshaggy suggested a few days ago, a new rule should really quickly make an appearance. Instead of a 7 puzzle per week high limit, this should be only ONE per week per setter so everyone will settle down because it is not possible to go on with that flood.... More and more new setters every day so this become an emergency now to have this new limit officially in the rules. Otherwise if new setters want to publish more puzzles in a shorter time, they can create their own blog as Bastien Vial Jaime, Fred Stalder or Akash Doulani did, or stay in the discord server but please dont post too many here on LMD this is not the way this site works at all. Thanks to all of you to understand.

[Osmium76]: I actually did not originally come from any of the websites, servers or groups you mentioned above, I just started creating puzzles on my own because I liked it. But I do watch CTC now, too (which you could probably have guessed from the puzzle). :)

Yes, I saw your comments, and thank you for explaining things to me. I totally understand the issue. And though I did in fact read the rules of this website, I must have missed the part that said not to post many puzzles at once - I have read the rules AGAIN now though and found it.

I have actually been constructing puzzles for a while but never knew how to publish them, so I was delighted when I finally found out about this website because I was eager to finally be able to get some ceomments on my puzzles so I could (hopefully) improve on my work in the future.
I will continue to publish my puzzles one by one and hope you will enjoy them.

idk if you saw my previous comment, but i appreciate your enthusiasm for all the puzzles earlier. but usually people publish 1 puzzle every few days. i look forward to the rest of them in the coming weeks!

Maybe you should read the discussion in the forum to understand the reactions. This site is the heart of the German puzzle federation "Logic Masters". Most parts of it have always been open for everyone. In the last year first the lockdown caused a run on the puzzle portal of new users and later the followers of some youtubers also came here. This has changed the character of the puzzle portal extremely.

IMO the non-sudoku part also was improved by this, since many sudoku lovers discovered the other puzzles here and even started to create themselves.

The problem with 16 puzzles at once is that you occupy the first page and other puzzles are almost not seen anymore.

Maybe it would have been a good idea to make a contest of them? The contest engine can only be used by LM members, but you will find someone, who hosts it, I suppose. Some weeks ago exactly this already has happened. Then you have many solvers at once and everyone is happy with 16 sudokus.

@osmium76 : firstly read the rules when you are a newcomer somewhere (website or anywhere else) that will make you someone better :)

[Osmium76]: I actually did read them. Twice by now.

This problem is good!

Glad you disabled the flood!

You need to clarify that the two-digit number read from left to right in the arrow circle is equal to the sum of the numbers on the arrow body. If necessary, the numbers on the arrow body may be repeated.

[Osmium76]: Thank you for your comment, I will definitely edit that in. :)
