Broken Digital Clocks
(Eingestellt am 3. Oktober 2020, 15:41 Uhr von Aspartagcus)
I got this idea after finding the digital parts option in Penpa+, and I'm very happy with the outcome.
RULES:
- Standard sudoku rules apply, but using the digits 0-8 instead of 1-9.
- In the grid, there are 15 broken digital clocks that need to be filled in with correct digits.
+ The gray segments are possible correct segments.
+ The black segments are given correct segments.
+ Any missing segments are not used in the correct digit representations.
+ The clocks use 24 hour representation, any timestamp from 00:00 to 23:59 can be used (or rather, from 01:23 to 23:58 due to other constraints).
+ The square clocks have the hour digits on top of the minute digits.
+ The patterns used for the digits is the most commonly used ones, see below:
(You can use normal digits, unless you really want to use the digital parts in Penpa+)
Let me know if the rules are unclear, I've tried to be as clear as possible.
And this is the puzzle:

Alternative layout, without the thick outlines, and with the digital digits reference at the bottom
Big thanks to swaroopg92 for adding the option to enter gray digital segments in Penpa+!
Enjoy!
Lösungscode: Rows 4 and 5 in succession, without spaces or commas.

Superb puzzle! Such a creative ruleset, really enjoyed it. Had a couple of false starts but finally got it right! :)

Coming up with interesting rulesets is a big part of the fun in setting puzzles, imo. ^^

Interesting idea for a constraint. Fun to use implied restrictions like this.

Thanks, it was very interesting to set. :)

It's 27:45 over here and I still haven't finished this puzzle, somehow I get the feeling that I'm doing something wrong
----
Maybe because 27:45 isn't a valid timestamp? :P
(Yes, I'm aware I'm commenting on a very old comment lol)
