You can use cosmetic text (Cosmetic Tools -> Text -> Place Mode: Outside) in f-puzzles for your clues. It won't warn you if you make a mistake then but it looks nicer and you don't have to use little killer clues that way. :)
Thanks for the puzzle!

Thank you MartinR! You invented an excellent variant. Mystery Sandwich adds a layer of logic without adding complexity.

Thanks for the mention:)
(Wasn't strictly necessary as you came up with the same idea independently, but still appreciated)
Always nice to see the same idea used by different setters as each have their own approach.

Something else I just noticed - Cracking The Cryptic used a rule description that is very similar to the one Richard used in his Mystery Sandwich. I adopted Cracking The Cryptic's wording when I started posting here because I had been using a rather awkward wording that I hadn't managed to improve upon: "Clues outside the grid indicate the sum of the digits sandwiched between the same two crusts in that row or column. Deduce the crusts and solve the puzzle." And my first two puzzles didn't even have "the same" in the rule description. Anyway, that's how we ended up with two such similar-looking versions of the same variant.

I edited the description of my first puzzle to give credit to MartinR for coming up with the idea before I did.

Thank you dm_litv! I guess MartinR had the idea first.

Thank you, marcmees! Are there other mystery sandwiches out there? I came up with the idea but I may not have been the first to do so.
