Standard Sudoku Rules apply to the final numerical layout.
Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in C Minor contains one of the most famous musical motifs in history: All four movements center around a rhythmic pattern of "Short-Short-Short-Long".
The same is true of Beethoven's Fifth Sudoku, which features Thermometers in groupings of short-short-short-long. All thermometers follow the usual rule of increasing from the bulb to the other end.
Given that Beethoven wrote nine symphonies, Arrows on the outside of the grid indicate all rows and columns where the 5 is sandwiched somewhere between the 1 and the 9.
And finally, all nine digits are represented by Crypto clues spelling out "Key C Minor".

Setter's Diary :: September 1, 2020 :: This is my first "thermo" sudoku, and it was a challenge finding just the right set of clues that made it logically solvable without cracking open easier than an egg. I think I've found something that warrants at least three stars of difficulty, but as always, I look forward to seeing how the community at large handles it.
Solution code: Row 4, then Row 6
