Classic Sudoku rules apply. On each thermometer, digits strictly increase from the bulb end to the tip. Solve here on f-puzzles.
Just a quick coffee-break of a puzzle from the last. Hope you enjoy.

Good puzzle!

I enjoyed this one a lot. Even though I have been on the CTC discord server for a while now, I still have trouble doing the difficult hybrid sudokus (although I try and sometimes succeed), so this was a very nice distraction for that!

Nice solving path. It was a great pre-bedtime puzzle

Great coffee break thermo puzzle. Thanks!

@hamslice, thanks for being gracious about the rating. The puzzle was fine, and I do look forward to more experimental efforts from you!

@argl, you are completely out of line. Perhaps geronimo's complaints are misplaced in this thread, but he or she (1) is responding to someone else's question and (2) is not resorting to personal insults.

'How old are you? Missing high school much??'
Was soll das denn??
Ich bin übrigens 68 und habe nicht verpasst und vermeide beleidigende Formulierungen.

I thought this was a nice puzzle and loved solving it. I don't know why of all sites, lmd would be the one going elitist and wanky about too many new people posting too many puzzles -- really you guys? How old are you? Missing high school much??
You might think it's all "the same puzzle types coming on too fast" but there are many other people liking those puzzles and enjoying that there are many of them. I sincerely hope the people on lmd are better than this, being compelled to engage in juvenile gatekeeping :/.
Thank you for the quality thermo, @hamslice, was a nice and enjoyable solve!

@Big Tiger I very much agree with you, and I thought that when releasing this. I'm quite happy with the rating on this one to be honest, given it's only classic and literally designed as a 'coffee-break' of a puzzle.

@panthchesh : i dont think new puzzles are too many only for ME but when you look at the average number of solvers it is very conclusive and relevant. Richard Stolk made a topic in the forum about it, people take it into account or not they are free but just dont complain if the majority is demotivated after all

I wonder if perchance low ratings on something like this are a symptom of the roller coaster effect: The idea that roller coasters are getting faster and higher because people have already done all the old ones and the thrill is gone.
The longer this site is around, the more the long-time users are going to crave "bigger and better", to where a "traditional" puzzle will be comparatively tedious even if they used to love them. I do think each puzzle should be rated entirely on its own merits, regardless of how well it holds up after someone has conquered harder puzzles.
(I may be entirely wrong, but my guess is the roller coaster effect is just as viable here as it is anywhere else in life.)

Sehr schönes Rätsel!

Giving low ratings to puzzles is unfortunate and sometimes unfair — but snarking about low ratings is not a good look at all, IMO. I hope this happens very rarely.

I don’t think it matters wether a certain variant is “overused” It matters what logic is needed in order to solve it. Any puzzle type, even something as generic as a classic sudoku, can be made into a great puzzle given the right logic. ahaupt’s “Killer Sudoku” is a good example of this. Don’t judge a puzzle by its variant.

@Rollo Since I haven't worked with thermometers before, this is just me experimenting to see how they work for my next puzzle.
This fell out in testing and happened to solve fairly well, so I thought I'd release it as a prelude, so that my little shattered puzzle series was nice and self-contained.

I hope they do.
If I want to spend a weekend solving one type of puzzels I'd pefere to buy a book. This is not the purpose of this portal. There are also blogs with hundreds of excellent puzzles of the same type.

@geronimo92, I understand that puzzles are coming out too fast for YOU, however, others do enjoy them. Please stop telling all the makers to stop putting out their puzzles. I enjoy them and I hope they do NOT listen to your wining.

@emmettcito. Still the same story, too many "new" puzzles on same repeating themes (thermo, sandwiches, killers, partial, chess.....). Please let more time between publications so we could solve more puzzles and have more fun

Why does this have such a low rating? I thought this was a lovely puzzle.
