Killer Twins & Triplets Sudoku (Tribute to tzael)
(Eingestellt am 24. Juli 2020, 00:00 Uhr von SudokuExplorer)
This is a tribute sudoku to tzael and his/her stunning killer twins sudokus
Killer Twins and
Killer Twins Revenge.
I recommend trying at least the first one (since the twin cages are similar).
Next Tuesday, I will publish a
mini sudoku with similar ideas needed to solve this tribute puzzle.
So if you get stuck with this one, you can have a crack with the mini sudoku.
Rule about Killer Twin Cages:
In a killer twin cage, each digit appears exactly twice within the cage.
In this sudoku, the two small cages without a cage sum are killer twin cages.
Rules about Killer Triplet Cages:
In a killer triplet cage, each digit appears exactly three times within the cage.
No two cells a knight's move apart within the cage can be equal. (Anti-knight constraint inside the triplet cage).
Its cage sum is the total of all the digits in the cage.
In this sudoku, the two large cages with cage sums 33 and 72 are killer triplet cages.
You can try this on
Penpa-Edit.
I hope you have a killer time solving this one!
Lösungscode: Enter 1st row (left to right), followed by 1st column (top to bottom), followed by digits in cells T,Z,A,E and L without any spaces/commas. Eg 123456789123456789TZAEL (23 digits in total).

These killer triplet cages are more interesting than I initially thought. Next Thursday I will probably post a puzzle showcasing the logic that I initially missed when setting this one.

@SudokuExplorer yes, a nonuplet sounds as fun as Rook Sudoku :)
I enjoyed solving the puzzle very much, great setting and thank you again, as any Klingon would say, a great honor! :)
Edit: @tzael I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for introducing me to some new logic! :-)

@tzael I'm glad you like the design!
Btw quadruplet and quintuplet cages can exist under normal sudoku rules. I'm not too sure whether a sextuplet cage or higher can exist (It would have to spread itself into at least six regions, making it fairly large and maybe harder to use in a sudoku). I think a nonuplet cage (nine of each digit) might just be the whole sudoku!

@SudokuExplorer Thank you so much, what a treat! Looking forward to solving it tomorrow, it looks great and I love the triplets (how far can we go?)
