Auch diese Variante finde ich sehr spannend. Man muss höllisch aufpassen, da es ja erlaubt ist gleich große "größte" Zahlen und gleich kleine "kleinste" Zahlen auf einer Diagonalen zu haben. Wenn man das nicht vergisst, gibt es einen sehr schönen logischen Weg durch das Rätsel.

Maybe, another example might be better.
For example: from the direction of the arrow, the numbers 22438678 on the same diagonal line, the first A(2) and the last B(8) are sandwich numbers, and the sum of the other numbers in between is the sandwich with, in this case,2+4+3+8+6+7=30.
