Schiffe platzieren: antarktische Eisbären

(Published on 22. June 2011, 18:49 by MiR)

Puzzle name: Ships placement: antarctic ice bears

Situation

Ice bears are to be settled in the Antarctic. For this purpose some ice bears of either sex were collected from zoos, shipped on ships and transported to the Antarctic.

In a solemn ceremony all ice bears were released into freedom simultaneously, each into an orthogonal adjacent water cell of its cage.

Task

In the right part of the image it is indicated for each cage of each ship of the fleet the sex of the ice bear which has been in that cage.

In the pictured grid the moment is fixed, in which all ice bears are allready in water, but neither ice bears nor ships have moved.

Place the pictured ships into the grid.

Thereby

  • the ships must not touch each other in any kind - not even in a point,
  • the ships may be rotated with any multiple of 90°.

Diagram

Example

In the solved diagram for each ships' cell it is indicated with a small arrow, in which direction an ice bear was released into freedom.

Hints

  • The the two letters "C" outside the border of the grid are only of interest for the solution code.

Solution code: For the with "C" marked row from left to right for each cell an "X" for a ships part and "-" else. Then the same for the with "C" marked column from top to bottom.

recently you asked of the "big sister" of the puzzle “Schiffe platzieren: Flöße”. New babys need months to be born and I am sorry that there will be no sister in the nearby future.

And as you can see with this puzzle here: I still have some other work to do in these days – for example to set some comrades of yours free.

This puzzle is meant as a little “Dank je wel!” for your always very motivating feedback.

I hope you may have a lttle bit of fun solving the puzzle !

Kind regards Michael

Natürlich wünsche ich allen Lösern Freude mit dem Lösen des Rätsels !

Of course I wish all solvers to enjoy solving the puzzle !
