Short Rules
  • Normal Rules Apply
  • Standard German Whisper
  • Standard Killer Cages
  • Standard Black and White Dots (No Negative Constraint)
Long Rules

Normal Rules Apply

Place the digits 1 through 9 exactly once in each row, each column, and each 3×3 box.

Standard German Whisper

Digits in cells connected by a green German Whisper line must differ by at least 5. The line itself has no restriction on repeating digits except as implied by the whisper condition and normal Sudoku rules.

Standard Killer Cages

Digits within a cage must sum to the number shown in the corner of the cage. Digits may not repeat within a cage, regardless of whether they share a row, column, or box.

Standard Black and White Dots (No Negative Constraint)

Black Dot:
A black dot between two orthogonally adjacent cells indicates that one digit is exactly double the other.

White Dot:
A white dot between two orthogonally adjacent cells indicates that the two digits are consecutive (their difference is exactly 1).

No Negative Constraint:
No negative constraint applies: cells without a dot between them are not restricted and may still be consecutive or in a 1:2 ratio.

In terms of some of the deductions you need to make, I agree with others that it feels like a higher 1* or a lower 2*. But if my solve time says anything, it’s definitely a low to middle 1*. I solved it in about 2/3 the time it takes me to solve most 1* puzzles. I think there are some deductions you make from very early on that make the rest of the puzzle a breeze if you are very familiar with GW lines. I can understand if you miss those, it makes the puzzle (and especially the break in) much more difficult.

It was very fun and I agree that the difficulty should be 2*

Enjoyable. Break in was probably on the higher ends of 1*. At least for me.

Unless I missed something, this for me is not a 1 star puzzle. Never the less it is a good puzzle.
