Re-Direction

Normal Sudoku rules apply.
There is a single gold line on the 9x9 Sudoku grid. Diamonds on the line, break the line into segments. Digits cannot repeat within a segment.
Digits on the line increase or decrease in value. Diamonds reverse the direction of digits. Increasing digits will be decreasing after a diamond or vice versa.
Where the line intersects with itself, the two straight line segments cross.
Digits in cells joined by an X sum to 10. Digits in cells joined by a V sum to 5.
Digits in cells joined by a white dot are consecutive.
Not all Xs, Vs or dots are necessarily given.

That was pretty fun! Didn't take too long to figure out a viable approach, and from there, it was just a matter of not losing track of where I was. Not too complicated, and I enjoyed tracing a path around the loop.
I particularly liked the criss-crossing section.

I agree with the other two comments; especially since thermometers are pretty well-known variants, it might be helpful to note that a diamond acts like either a thermometer bulb, or a thermometer tip (one diamond cannot be both).

Diamonds along the line alternate between thermometer bulbs, and thermometer tips...

Neat! I would make it more clear that the diamonds are part of the whole increasing/decreasing constraint, I thought at first the lines increased/decreased *after* the diamond, which to be fair that is how it's worded here. Maybe "Increasing digits will be decreasing FROM a diamond or vice versa."?
