Parity Party 4

(Published on 1. January 2026, 16:45 by galium_odoratum)

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Loop: Construct a single continuous loop using only even digits. The loop cannot cross or touch itself, not even diagonally. The loop cannot be orthogonally touched by an even digit (diagonally is allowed).

Grey squares: A cell with a grey square contain an even digit. All grey-square cells are part of the loop. The digit in a grey-square cell indicates the number of even digits visible orthogonally, including the cell itself, whereas odd digits block visibility.

Diamonds: A digit in a cell with a diamond indicates a global knight's move constraint, which applies only to this particluar digit.

X/V: Cells joined by a V sum to 5. Cell joined by an X sum to 10.

Cages: Digits in a cage sum to the number shown in its top-left corner.

Dynamic fog: Some cells are initially covered by fog. Placing certain digits will clear fog elsewhere in the grid. No guessing is required.

I think that was my favourite so far. The break in was quite challenging and you definitely need to be careful with your colouring but I loved the disambiguating diamonds at the end.

I missed that the knight constraints for diamonds are to be global first and got stuck until I reread the rules very carefully. Afterwards it was a very satisfying solve, thanks!
