Disjoint Bowling in the Fog

(Published on 29. December 2025, 01:44 by meggen033)

This is another somewhat approachable disjoint puzzle (if there is such a thing). Check out my precious "approachable" disjoint puzzles:

1.) It takes 3 to Tango

2.) Celsius 417

3.) Two Way Street

4.) I'm a Frayed Knot

5.) Low Rider

6.) Disjoint Mechanic

7.) Empty Boxes

8.) Dislocated Strands

9.) XV Circles

10.) One Disjoint Pilgrimage

11.) 3 Dots

12.) Duck-Duck-Goose

13.) Foggy Disjoint

14.) Cage of the Disjoint Dots

Solve with SudokuPad

• Normal Sudoku rules apply.

• Disjoint Set: Cells in the same relative position in different boxes cannot contain the same digits.

• The grid is partially covered with fog. Correctly placed digits will clear the fog around that cell. No guessing is required.

• Digits in a cage do not repeat and sum to the clue in the top left.

• Digits along diagonals pointed to by arrows outside the grid must sum to the number listed. Digits may repeat along the diagonal if allowed by normal Sudoku rules.

Thanks for the LSD-trip, meggen ;D

I found this one to be at least a 2*, too.
It was great fun, though!

Quite honestly, I think this must have been the most esthetically pleasing solution I have ever encountered. I also went the route of complete colour coverage and rapid substitution, so the fog was not a consideration at all.

I agree with other commenters that this is closer to a 2* puzzle. I found VitP's comment to be very helpful and got it solved in 25 minutes.

I dont think the fog was necessary, i think my solve path would have been identical without it.

Lovely! Very challenging and also very fun.

Very nice, full colouring puzzle. Found it quite tough though it pretty much collapsed into a quick solution at the end. Took me 34 minutes.

Definitely a 2* for me. The break in was definitely an “aha!” moment and the puzzle came together nicely after.

2* with the advanced colouring. Not for newbies. Very nicely constructed.

Fabulous puzzle. Greatly enjoyed the logic

Nice logic and fun but took a long time and certainly not a 1*. More of a 3* for me.

That was a lot of fun. Thinking about negative space, then colouring while trying not to make mistakes... very satisfying when it all comes together.

needs experience both with disjoint sets and entropy, so level 2.

hint: will require 2-level nested colouring, 3x3

Excellent puzzle, took me quite a while. 2* for me.

I managed to do this just in 1*-time (for me), but i think it is harder than a usual 1*-puzzle. I'm not a big fan of disjoint puzzles, but this one I liked a lot (because it's not about scanning the grid the whole time for what digits could or could not be...).

As usual, your negative constraints make your puzzles very interesting. This was an absolute delight.
