Quattroquadri: Toroidal Numbered Rooms

(Published on 3. July 2025, 18:00 by Crusader175)

First puzzle of my Quattroquadri series. Hope you enjoy solving the puzzle!
Rules:

Quattroquadri: Place a digit from 1-9 in each empty cell in the grid such that digits do not repeat in any row, column, or 3x3 box.

Toroidal Numbered Rooms: Clues outside the grid indicate the digit which has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit placed in the first cell in that direction. Rows and columns are toroidal, so if N is bigger than 6, the next cell after the 6th cell will be the first cell in the row/column again.

Another puzzle that required you to re-tune your brain a bit with 6x6 grid and toroidal numbering. Once that was internalized, the puzzle itself flowed really nicely and at the end didn't feel too hard.

It was pretty amazing to realize how the boxes work together when that was not at all what I was looking for.

Reply: Thanks Snaques! I always loved Numbered Rooms, and this was me exploring it in QQ grid and toroidal.

Nice puzzle, but...

I really want to know why there is no *numbered room* tag when there is even *Quattroquadri* tag... Could it be that *numbered room* is actually included in the *159* tag? ?

Reply: Thanks! I would definitely love to see Numbered Rooms tag or maybe Indexing tag in general.

This one was slow going for a while, but the quickness that the end came with was very satisfying.
I do wonder if providing the rest of the room numbers would make it appreciably easier - I imagine that you've provided the minimum amount of clues necessary to solve.

Reply: The clues are specifically chosen to build my intended solve-path to the puzzle. Thanks for the solve dzamie!
