This confused me to no end. Still not really sure what it means, but once I decided to just ignore it and solve it like a normal slow thermo it went very smoothly.

The thermos look a little off to me on the image, but once I put in the sudokupad app it looked ok (except for the odd bulbs) and solved smoothly enough.
