Infiltration

(Published on 19. February 2025, 22:00 by XeonRisq)

This is a follow-up mashup of two constraints that chilly (Hot Arrows) and myself (Remote Sums) have been developing.
For puzzles that demonstrate the logic of the Hot Arrow constraint please see the puzzles below:
Take the Low Road (Intro) ; It's All Downhill From Here ; Pointillism ; Pointed Totals
  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Remote Sums : A digit X in a cage points to a second digit Y located X cells away in its row or column. The number in the top left corner of the cage gives the sum of X+Y.
  • Hot Arrows : The digit in an orange arrow cell must be larger than the digits in all cells in the direction the arrow points.

Great puzzle! Not overly difficult but very easy to make mistakes, I had to restart several times. Fun ruleset!

Glad you had fun with this. And I agree, during test solves I saw at least momentary mistakes, especially with arrow interactions. Thanks for the solve/feedback.

Brilliant puzzle (with a little scare at the end)! Beautiful interactions between the two constraints. I'm glad to see one of my favourite constraints, the remote sums, back. Thanks:)

Appreciate the gracious feedback, and thrilled you had a good time running through this one. I'll try to cook up some more ideas for puzzles with Remote Sums in the future!
