Soccer Formations (Region Sum Lines, Arrows, Kropki Pairs)

(Published on 19. February 2025, 02:10 by Bellsita)

I made the original version of this puzzle a couple of years ago as part of the Monthly Prompt on the CTC Discord. The puzzle was part of a pack of puzzles in honor of the greatest puzzle of all time Football Formations by Niverio.

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply. Each row, column, and region indicated by thick borders in the grid must contain the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Region sum lines: Digits along a white line (with green background) or blue line (with no background color) sum to the same value in each box it passes through. Different lines may have different sums.
  • Arrows: Digits along an arrow add to digit in the attached circle.
  • Kropki players: Cells separated by a red team player have a 1:2 ratio. Cells separated by a blue team player are consecutive. Not all players are on the field.

THE PUZZLE:

Solution code: All digits in row 9 (left to right)

"Not all players are on the field." This is it. This is the best rule ever written in a Sudoku puzzle. The rest of us can pack up and head home. It was fun y'all.

"Not all players are on the field" vs. "The ages on a concordia line keep increasing and the diagram is not to scale." who would win

Easy, but neat logic all over!
P.S. Recommend solving the version with no background. Best color contrast between the background, the clues, and the digits you put into the grid.
