Very Contrived, In My Opinion
(Published on 14. February 2025, 06:33 by Scojo)
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.
- Diagonal X-Sums: A clue outside the grid gives the sum of the first X digits along each indicated diagonal, where X is the first digit seen along each diagonal. X may not be greater than the length of the diagonal. "A" represents an unknown value, and "3A" is 3 times that value.
- Flat Mates: Every 5 in the grid must have a '1' directly above it or a '9' directly below it. It may have both, but it doesn't need both.

Apparently I’m in a contrary mood today because I disagree with everything. Neither did I find this puzzle contrived nor do I think it’s harder than 2*, in fact I’d put it at 1.5!

Maybe - Maybe - if I had tried this earlier in the day it would have been easier, but I felt the break-in was worthy of a "3".
