Cupid's Arrows

(Published on 14. February 2025, 04:08 by Phurba)

Rules:

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply. Every row, column, and 3x3 box contains each number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
  • Arrows: Digits along an arrow may repeat and sum to the digit in the connected circle.
  • Killer Cages: Digits in a cage cannot repeat and must sum to the small number in the top left corner.
  • Anti-Knight: Cells separated by a knights move in chess cannot contain the same digit.
  • Letters: For each pair of cells with a letter in the top left corner, the cell with the letter that comes later in the alphabet must contain the larger digit.

Enjoy!

Lovely puzzle. It felt like two puzzles in one. I do wonder why the use of the letters in lieu of a simple ">" or thermo. Fortunately, the directions didn't confuse me, but I could see how they might.

I'm glad you liked the puzzle. It's a Valentine's Day themed puzzle, hence the letters and the 14-cage (Feb. 14).

This is undoubtly one of the best puzzles I've done in a while. It looked innocent in the beginning, but after the break-in a brilliant and elegant solving path unfoldeded. Such a nice creation, thank you very much for setting this!

Usually avoid anti knight but the 2 star difficulty piqued my interest. That was gorgeous, a genuinely nice anti knight!
