Archaeomancer's Map

(Published on 3. February 2025, 17:28 by Gene The Supreme)

Normal Sudoku rules apply.

Anti-Diagonal: Each main diagonal contains exactly three distinct digits.

X-Sums: Clues outside the grid give the sum of the first X digits from the clue, where X is the first digit from the clue.

In this puzzle, the digits summed by each clue form either an entropic line or a modular line, meaning every three adjacent digits are either one each from the sets (123)(456)(789) or one each from the sets (147)(258)(369). They may be both.

I can not always complete 3* puzzles, but I knew I had to try for the MTG reference! There were some very tricky and nice deductions in here.

I am not sure how the name connects to the puzzle, however.
{It's a play on X marking the spot on a map. I find MTG cards to be fun and evocative names for puzzles. Several other puzzles in my catalog are named after them as well.}
