Overheated Knight

(Published on 5. January 2025, 11:16 by wuc)

This puzzle is dedicated to my friend Michael. He helps me a lot testing my puzzles. I tried to forge a puzzle with the constraint he dislikes most: the anti-knight constraint. My goal was, to make the puzzle that much fun to solve that even he starts to like anti-knight puzzles. What do you think? Leave a comment: do you like anti-knight puzzles? Do you like this specific puzzle?

Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply.
Digits on Thermos are strictly increasing from bulb to tip.
Adjacent digits along a green line must differ by at least 5.
Anti-knight: Cells that are a chess knight’s move apart cannot contain the same digit.

Very nice puzzle. The beginning is very nice. I got a bit stuck at the end.

I'm with Michael, anti-knight is not my favorite, but I liked this one, even though it leaned on it so heavily. Thanks for setting!

Very fun. Clever ending with the 2-3 pair and the 7 :)

I like anti knight puzzles and loved this one. Quite straightforward start but got sticky in the middle.
