Rules:

Normal sudoku rules apply. Values on a blue line have the same sum in each 3x3 box the line passes through. If a line passes through a box multiple times, each individual segment sums separately.

There is exactly one "knapp daneben" cell in each row, column, and box. A digit in a knapp daneben cell has its value either increased or decreased by exactly 1 (e.g. a 3 becomes either 2 or 4). Each digit appears in a knapp daneben cell exactly once. (However, it is permissible for two digits to become modified to the same value, such as both 5 and 7 becoming 6.)

Such a smooth puzzle! Starts off pretty clean but requires very carefully concealed pieces of logic to advance in mid-solve. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The beginning and end were smooth, and I loved the puzzle overall, though the middle was 4 stars for me, very tricky - wonder if I missed something easier!

Thank you! I've had so much fun from this puzzle. But after solving it, I'm now wondering about the name of this puzzle. Why is it called Oboe? Is it somehow related to the musical instrument Oboe?

Thanks! OBOE is an acronym used in programming which stands for "Off-by-One Error". -Math Pesto
