Telekropkinesis

(Published on 3. January 2025, 07:19 by Elytron)

I haven't created a sudoku in quite some time as the ideas I had never really worked out well. But I've finally finished one, which I'm proud to present today. Although I came up with the ruleset myself, it didn't surprise me that it has already been come up with three years ago by Richard Stolk in Remote Kropki. So if you like this puzzle, you can find the same ruleset there!

Solve with SudokuPad.

Rules:

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.

  • Telekinetic Kropkis:
    • If the digit n is in a cell with a white arrow, the digit n steps in the direction of the arrow must be consecutive with n.
    • If the digit n is in a cell with a black arrow, the digit n steps in the direction of the arrow must be in a 1:2 ratio with n.
    • Not all telekinetic Kropkis are necessarily given.

Solution code: Column 5 from top to bottom (9 digits).

The solve path felt relatively narrow yet everything was perfectly telegraphed and fair, never had to look far to find progress. A very well balanced puzzle.

Very nice! The Telekinetic Kropkis are new to me and I must say that I really like them. Thanks for sharing.

This was a lot of fun. The hardest part is to pencilmark completely different options. And without pencilmarking there's at least one step i would never have seen.

Hats off for this very nice, minimalistic puzzle. Each and every clue is carefull chosen which makes the solution path very narrow, with some fun and interesting steps all along the way. Thanks for this beauty!
