What Is This, a Crossover Episode?

(Published on 2. January 2025, 18:25 by Justalilguy)

Rules

  • Normal sudoku rules apply for the red 9x9 grid.
  • For the black 8x8 grid, choose a subset of eight digits from digits 1-9, which always includes digit 2. There are eight different subsets, each appearing in a row, column, and box only once.
  • Cells with black arrows count the cells that contain a repeating digit along a diagonal, excluding itself. Cells with Multiple arrows count each diagonal separately. For example, a cell seeing 1-2-3-2 along a diagonal and 4-3-4-4 along another would see a total of 5 repeating digits; two 2s, and three 4s. The cell with a white circle counts only half of the repeating digits. Arrows outside the grid point to non-zero repeating digits.
  • The red arrow sees a diagonal with non-repeating digits.
  • Digits connected by small square sum to 7, digits connected by X sum to 10. Not all X or squares may be given.

  • An extra row and column are given to record which digits are omitted in their respective rows and columns.
