CHIPS Sudoku Level 1

(Published on 13. January 2025, 04:44 by pagedo)

CHIP'S Challenge was a top-down tile-based puzzle video game originally published in 1989. This is a sudoku interpretation of that retro game - level 1.

READ THE "BOARD/GRID" BELOW TO UNDERSTAND THESE RULES

Normal sudoku rules apply.
Cells joined by an X sum to 10. Cells joined by a V sum to 5. Not all Xs and Vs are given.
Cells joined by a white dot are consecutive. Cells joined by a black dot have a ratio of 2. Not all dots are given.
Given digits represent the starting level and ending portal level.
A Door (coloured square) and it's associated key (coloured diamond) have the same digit. Doors/Key digits are consecutive starting from 1. The starting 4 keys in the large central room are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4. Two doors can only be opened after at least one other key is collected, apart from the initial 4 starting keys.
Chip (large grey rectangle) digits can repeat. The chip that opens the level 2 portal does not repeat - it is unique. It is the same number as the socket below the level 2 portal.

Board/Grid:
----------------
Grey square walls divide the grid into rooms that have white square floor tiles.
Doors are coloured squares in the walls. The door's key is the same coloured diamond on a white floor tile.
Chips are grey larger rectangles on a white floor tile.
A large socket protects the level 2 portal at the top centre of the grid. A special chip in the socket opens the portal.

Chip’s Challenge was my favorite game as a kid! I instantly recognized the classic level 1 layout, nice job! :)

Nice game. I like how the rule about the uniqueness of the chip that opens the portal helps to disambiguate some combinations
