Entropic Knights

(Published on 29. December 2024, 05:17 by sudoku_explorer)

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 through 9 in each empty cell. Digits must not repeat within the same row, column, or box.
  • Anti-Knight: Digits must not repeat in cells that are a chess knight's move apart.
  • Entropic Line: Every 3 consecutive cells along an entropic line must contain a low digit (1,2,3), middle digit (4,5,6) and high digit (7,8,9).
  • Kropki Dots: Digits seperated by a black dot are in a 1:2 ratio. Digits seperated by a white dot are consecutive. Not all dots are given.
  • Easier 2* version with one digit revealed: Sudokupad

For more challenge of 4* break-in: Sudokupad

Solution code: Row 5 (9 digits, no spaces)

I played without the digit, and I think it's been a 3* experience for me... it wasn't too easy to find the proper color for each cell, but certainly possible (although it took me a while to see how).
Nice puzzle indeed, thanks a lot!

Did the more challenging version. Was doable as long as you keep your pencil marks clear. Very nice puzzle!

Well i chickened out and did the 2*. It was fun. Would have been more fun if I hadn't kept screwing up the color coding of the entropic line. ;)

Brilliant! Took some time to figure out, but the hard part isn't when the given digit helps. Agree with others, the given digit shouldn't be used.

Did the harder break in, it was nice but felt on the easy end of a 4*, maybe 3*

hard version is very nice

Definitely recommend the harder version, which is more like a 3-star. The given digit in the easier version makes it fairly trivial and not nearly as interesting.

Glad I stuck with the more difficult variant. Very nice break-in!
