This came from a prompt a few weeks back on the Sudoku Stream Team discord server. The request was "Invent/Make something crazy!" I don't know that this qualifies, but I did like breaking a common line type in half and seeing where it got me. The references are to the characters of the movie and musical "Wicked".
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply.
- Elphaba line - along a green Elphaba line, no digit may have a value less than 5, and digits must alternate between being odd or even.
- Glinda line - along a pink Glinda line, no digit may have a value greater than 4, and digits must alternate between being odd or even.
- XV sums - digits separated by an X sum to 10; digits separated by a V sum to 5. No negative constraint.
- Kropki dots - digits separated by a white Kropki dot have a difference in value of 1; digits separated by a black Kropki dot have a value ratio of 1:2. No negative constraint.
Puzzle:
Happy Flying!
Solution code: Row 4 digits, left to right

Thanks NSM, I’m a poor solver so I appreciate approachable puzzles like this that don’t require an hour of my day.

Fun coloring puzzle. Thanks for sharing.
>>>NSM here - did you color for odd/even or high/low when you came off the lines? I colored for odd/even when I was toasting, but that didn't seem to be everyone's choice.
amchap: I pencil marked high/low and colored odd/even and did both for the entire grid, although that probably wasn't necessary once I left the lines.

I thought I clicked on a 4 star puzzle and was waiting for it to get hard, but it never did. Haha. For a 1 star puzzle, this is "very nice." Thanks for sharing.

brightonsimon Did you happen to get splashed by water while solving? I hear that can cause melting.
Nice puzzle! A great speed run before starting the work day :) And loved the parity mechanic of the Elphaba and Glinda lines.

pretty easy for a beginner to have ago at.
>>>NSM here - that's not an unfair comment. The way I see it is that my solving is still a bit weak, so I don't want to set something I couldn't solve myself. If that means other folks find it approachable as well? All the better!

Thank you for this fun parity puzzle, NotSoMagnifique! It reminded me a little of Shifter Lines and I enjoyed it immensely.

Great puzzle, extra challenging at the start when you forget about the alternating even/odd digits...

I'm not entirely sure what I just solved because my brain went a bit melty... but I'm pretty certain I had a lot of fun doing it! :-) Thank you!
>>>NSM here - I apologize for the melting!
