A crazier idea. No bifurcation is needed though.
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 through 9 in each empty cell. Digits must not repeat within the same row, column, or box.
- Digits cannot repeat along the indicated diagonal.
- Digits along each arrow must sum to the digit in the circle.

Nice puzzle, didn't think it was a 5*, but maybe I just got lucky with the break-in. Took me about 34 minutes to solve.
