My son and I did a theme puzzle for 2025.
This is the puzzle of my son with some adjustments and testing by dad ;-). The constraint interaction is not that easy so maybe 2 stars difficulty?
Have fun and leave a comment.
Rules:
Standard sudoku rules apply: The digits 1 through 9 appear in every row, column, and box.
Digits on Thermos are strictly increasing from bulb to tip.
Adjacent digits along a green German Whispers line must differ by at least 5.
Digits in cells separated by a black dot are in a 2:1 ratio. Not all dots are necessarily given.
Cells marked with a grey circle (that are not thermo bulbs) contain odd digits.
Solution code: Row 2 left to right

Nice puzzle, it took me a while to get the first digit but from then it was smooth. Enjoyable!

Well, this is not meant as a negative comment, but that was, for me, a painful slog. I made it, with some very very slow chipping away and reducing possibilities, but I would be very interested in someone's making a video or a description of what makes this an easy puzzle and how to get started without a foreboding feeling of dismay that lasted half an hour for me.

Well, Son has me stumped... At two stars, I'm staring at this grid wondering what I am Just Not Seeing.

Great puzzle! I particularly liked the deductions required for various bits of box 2. It all fit together so nicely!

What a wonderful puzzle. Give my thanks to your son. The deductions in the combinations of clues was most enjoyable.

Very nice setting by your son. I feel fortunate that I was able to spot some of the more subtle early clues. I really thought most of the break-in options were rather subtle, which is very impressive. I'm sure you are a very proud parent!
