This puzzle was originally designed to be a sample grid to clarify the rules it introduces, which I used to this Chaos Construction puzzle. As such, I was mostly concerned with showcasing all the funny edge cases that a passport quesadilla can present, but I found the irregular sudoku that resulted to be a pretty fun snack. I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for playing!

Rules:

Wrapping Irregular Sudoku: Place the digits 1-6 in every row, column, and 6-cell region. The solver must determine which sets of cells make up some regions All regions are 6 orthogonally adjacent cells, but some may wrap around the edge of the grid.

Quesadilla Grid: The grid has been folded across its positive diagonal so that its western and southern edges are adjacent, and its northern and eastern edges are also adjacent. This is reflected in the border coloring.

One way to visualize this is to imagine pivoting the grid around the SW and NE corners by 90 degrees in each direction.

Passport Arrows: A digit with an arrow counts the number of region borders that it will cross by traveling in a straight line in the indicated direction before it returns to its home region. It does not count its final border crossing into the home region.

For example, if an arrow's path moves from region A ⮕ B ⮕ A, its cell will contain a 1, and if it moves from region A ⮕ B ⮕ C ⮕ B ⮕ A, it will contain a 3.

If a cell contains multiple arrows, each individual arrow's path will meet the above criteria.

If an arrow reaches the edge of the grid, it will continue out from its paired edge with its direction rotated 90 degrees.

An arrow that travels diagonally into the NE or SW corner will return the way it came, counting the borders it crossed a second time (but not counting its final crossing into its home region). An arrow traveling into the NW or SE corner will wrap the quesadilla corner by moving to the diagonally opposite corner and continue in the direction it was moving.

The blank space outside the 6x6 grid is available for taking notes, but doesn't need to be filled to trigger answer check. Click here to play!
