  • Samurai Sudoku rules apply: normal sudoku rules apply in each of the five grids. Shared boxes conform to both grids' sudoku.
  • Digits 1 and 9 split each row/column (of 9 or 21 digits) into streaks of cells, and those streaks that are delimited by a 1 and a 9 must sum to the number in the red clue outside the grid in the direction of the row/column. The sum doesn't include the delimiting 1 and 9. (Streaks delimited by double 1, double 9 or by an end of the grid may not sum to the indicated total.)
  • Digits joined by a V sum to 5, digits joined by a X sum to 10. Not all possible such pairs are given.
  • Digits joined by a black dot are in 1:2 ratio and digits joined by a white dot are consecutive, not all possible dots are given.

For reference, the clue to the right of r6c9 is also a clue above r7c10. Also, the clue to the right of r5c21 only sees the part of that row in columns 13 to 21, but the clue to the right of r7c21 does see the row from column 1 to column 21.

Solution code: First five digits of row 5 followed by the last five digits of row 5 followed by the first five digits of row 17 followed by the last five digits of row 17. (20 digits)

Wow, very nice.

Especially the last bit was so satisfying. Boom and boom :)

Logicwise maybe three stars difficulty for me. Extra star for the lenght of time it takes, it is hard to stay focused for that long.

Many thanks for this special x-max gift.

Glad you liked it :D

i will not spoil the break in, but the break out. ;-) u write 41 numbers at once in the grid, and this twice. Absolutely nice setting. TY
